Martyn Reding is a seasoned design leader who has built and run UX teams at Virgin Atlantic, Zoopla and is currently Design Director at Expedia Group. Before making the move to leadership roles, Martyn was an award winning product designer who worked with brands such as Microsoft, BBC, Penguin and Sony.
Workshop
How to transition from Designer to Leader
This workshop aims to teach folks, with a UX background, how to utilise their skills to transition from an IC to a leadership role. Through a combination of presentations, pair working, group discussions and individual exercises, participants will work through a design approach to building their leadership skills. By presenting the task of leading a design team, as a UX challenge, participants will learn to view their teams as a product and their organisation as its users.
